This Privacy Policy explains what data perpHect collects, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have. perpHect is operated by PERPHECT LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 16011627).
We are built on a principle of minimum necessary data. We collect only what is needed to deliver personalised hydration coaching. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
1. Data We Collect
Account data
Your email address and a hashed password (for email accounts), or an account identifier from Apple or Google if you use social sign-in. This is required to create and maintain your account. Your email is used for password resets and transactional messages only.
Profile and preference data
Body weight, unit preference, activity level, time zone, notification preferences, and quiet hours. This is used to calculate your personalised hydration target and to schedule reminders.
Hydration and check-in data
Water intake entries with timestamps, daily check-in inputs (energy, stress, sleep quality), personal notes you write during check-ins, and your daily hydration target. This powers your coaching, reminders, and progress tracking. Your personal notes are never read by perpHect staff unless you explicitly share them with us for support.
Behavioural insights
Patterns derived from your hydration logs and check-ins over time (for example, weekend drop-offs or afternoon dips). These improve the quality of your coaching.
2. Apple HealthKit Data
perpHect integrates with Apple HealthKit on iOS. This section explains exactly how we handle Health data.
- What we read: With your explicit permission, perpHect reads fitness and activity data including steps, active energy, workouts, heart rate, sleep, and body weight.
- What we write: With your explicit permission, perpHect can write your logged water intake back to Apple Health.
- Why: HealthKit data is used solely to calculate and personalise your daily hydration target and coaching. More activity or higher exertion increases your recommended intake.
- We never sell or share HealthKit data. HealthKit data is never used for advertising, marketing, or data mining, and is never shared with third parties for those purposes.
- We do not store HealthKit data in iCloud or use it for any purpose other than delivering the app's hydration features.
- Your control: You can revoke perpHect's access to Health data at any time in the iOS Settings app under Privacy & Security → Health, or within the Apple Health app.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To calculate your personalised daily hydration target.
- To generate AI coaching messages, daily plans, and weekly insights.
- To schedule and deliver smart reminders.
- To track your progress and streaks.
- To manage your subscription access.
4. Third-Party Services
We share limited data with the following services strictly to operate the app:
- Apple: Handles all subscription payment processing and, if you choose, Apple Sign-In. perpHect never receives or stores your card details.
- RevenueCat: Manages subscription state and validates purchases. Receives an anonymous identifier and your Apple subscription receipt. It does not receive your email or personal data.
- OpenAI (via a processing proxy): Generates coaching content. Receives hydration context and check-in inputs as a prompt, with no personally identifiable information. Prompts are not used to train models.
- Open-Meteo: Provides weather data used to adjust hydration targets. Receives only approximate geographic coordinates — no personal data and no account.
- Resend: Sends password-reset emails. Receives your email address and the reset link only.
- Google: If you choose Google Sign-In, provides a verified identity token (name and email) to create or link your account.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Replit's infrastructure and transmitted only over encrypted HTTPS connections. Passwords are hashed. We retain your data only as long as your account is active.
6. Your Rights
- Access: You may request a copy of the data we hold about you by emailing [email protected].
- Correction: You can update your profile information directly in the app under Profile → Personal Info.
- Deletion: You may delete your account and all associated data at any time directly within the app under Profile → Delete Account. On confirmation, your account, hydration logs, check-ins, notes, and behavioural profile are permanently removed and your subscription state is cleared from our systems. You may also request deletion by emailing [email protected]. Deletion may take up to 30 days to complete across all systems.
If you used Apple Sign-In with a hidden email, please include the Apple-generated forwarding address when contacting us so we can locate your account.
7. Children
perpHect is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
